Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: ACC Ltd; Adani Enterprises; Cipla; Dabur India; Eicher Motors; Indraprastha Gas; Jindal Steel & Power; Jamna Auto Industries; Mahindra & Mahindra; Page Industries; Supreme Engineering; Tata Power Company; TVS Motor Company; Wipro.
Overall, 27 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 23 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.
In the Nifty 50 index, Tata Motors, Eicher Motors, GAIL, Bharti Airtel and Indian Oil Corp were among top gainers, while Asian Paints, Titan Company , Kotak Bank, Divi’s Labs and Tech Mahindra were trading in red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 159.77 points down at 49109.55. Traders were seen piling up position in Diversified, Auto, Rubber, Telecommunications and General sectors, while selling were visible in Electric/Electronics, Learning & Education, Trading, Gems and Jewellery and FMCG sectors.
