Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: Adani Transmission, Ashok Leyland, Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp, JK Tyre & Industries, Minda Industries, SBI Cards and Payment Services, Tata Motors, V-Guard Industries, TVS Motor Company, Whirlpool of India and CEAT Ltd.
Overall, 13 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 37 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.
In the Nifty 50 index, Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Motors, Eicher Motors and Shree Cements were among top gainers, while Hindalco Inds., Axis Bank, JSW Steel, Asian Paints and Tech Mahindra were trading in red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 403.53 points down at 49221.23. Traders were seen piling up position in Retail, Auto, Diversified, Tyres and Auto Ancillaries sectors, while selling were visible in Trading, Industrial Equipment, Metals – Non Ferrous, Airlines and Real Estate sectors.
