On Monday, bears continued to hammer the stocks as benchmark indices slid for the third straight day. Overall, Rs 2.08 lakh crore was wiped off from the market in a single session.
The 30-share pack Sensex dropped 530.95 points or 1.09 per cent to close at 48,347.59. Its broader peer NSE Nifty slid 133 points or 0.93 per cent to 14,238.90. Among Asian markets, Singapore, Taiwan and Indonesia traded in the red, while others registered some gains.
This week movement in the market will be dictated by the expectations over the Union Budget scheduled February 1. Apart from that, the market will also keep an eye on FII flow and development on the ongoing border conflict between India and China.
