Shares of Zee Entertainment (down 2.72 per cent), DB Corp (down 2.28 per cent), TV18 Broadcast (down 0.5 per cent), Hathway Cable & Datacom (down 0.33 per cent) and Sun TV Network (down 0.18 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
While TV Today Network (up 2.14 per cent), Jagran Prakashan (up 1.84 per cent), Network 18 Fincap (up 1.66 per cent), Navneet Education Ltd (up 0.84 per cent) and PVR (up 0.58 per cent) were among the top gainers.
The Nifty Media index was trading 0.59 per cent down at 1671.9 around 03:00PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 1.50 points at 15313.2, while the BSE Sensex was down 50.12 points at 52104.01.
