Smallcap stocks: Stock market update: Smallcap stocks rise; IOB zooms 20%

NEW DELHI: SmallCap stocks were trading on a positive note at 02:29PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Indian Overseas Bank (up 20.0 per cent), Bank of Maharashtra (up 19.97 per cent), Central Bank of India (up 16.93 per cent), Adani Total Gas (up 15.32 per cent) and OnMobile Global (up 12.78 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Dalmia Bharat (down 6.2 per cent), PC Jeweller (down 6.15 per cent), Arvind (down 6.02 per cent), Shakti Pumps India (down 5.92 per cent) and Inox wind (down 5.71 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 0.21 per cent up at 19735.57 around 02:29PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 27.75 points at 15286.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 149.51 points at 52004.62.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, , Suzlon Energy, Central Bank India and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of AdityaBirlaFashion (PP), Bank of Maharashtra, Bank of India, Adani Gas and HEG Ltd hit their fresh 52week high in today’s trade, while Cospower Engineering, Chandrima Mercantiles, Svaraj Trading & Agencies, Polo Queen Industrial and Fintech, Elegant Floriculture & Agrotech (I), Mitshi India, Interactive Financial Services and Padmanabh Industries hit fresh 52week low in trade.
