FMCG stocks: Stock market update: Nifty FMCG index falls over 1%; ITC down 4%

NEW DELHI: Nifty FMCG index was trading lower at 02:25PM (IST) on Monday.

Shares of ITC (down 4.08 per cent), Marico (down 1.94 per cent), Dabur India (down 1.86 per cent), United Spirits (down 1.5 per cent) and Godrej Consumer Products (down 1.36 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While VBL (up 7.69 per cent), Jubilant Foodworks (up 3.94 per cent), Britannia Industries (up 0.63 per cent) and P & G Hygiene (up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 1.29 per cent down at 32906.35 around 02:25PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 298.15 points at 14683.6, while the BSE Sensex was down 1117.78 points at 49771.98.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 9 were trading in the green, while 41 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, PNB, IDFC First Bank, Bank of Baroda and Central Bank Ind were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Hind Copper, Ratnamani Metal, Vaibhav Global, Varun Beverages and Aditya Birla Capital hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while Sanwaria Consumer Ltd., Silly Monks Entertainment Ltd. and Marine Electricals (India) Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
