pharma stocks: Stock market update: Pharma stocks down; Biocon sheds 3%

NEW DELHI: Pharma stocks were trading on a negative note at 02:16PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Biocon (down 2.7 per cent), Cadila Healthcare (down 1.6 per cent), Divi’s Laboratories (down 1.23 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (down 1.07 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories (down 0.7 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 1.34 per cent), Lupin (up 1.3 per cent) and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories (up 0.69 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Pharma index was trading 0.05 per cent down at 12026.75 around 02:16PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 55.65 points at 14731.35, while the BSE Sensex was up 110.07 points at 49854.39.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, PNB, Tata Motors, ONGC and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Hindustan Copper, Hindalco Industries, Aditya Birla Capital, Tanla Solutions and Hindustan Foods hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while Sanwaria Consumer, Silver Touch Technologies, Marine Electricals (India), Globe Textiles (India), Mask Investments, Shradha Infraprojects, Thomas Scott (India) and Sri Adhikari Brothers Television Network hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
