The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.5 per cent up at 2499.8 around 01:39PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 158.20 points at 15140.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 449.28 points at 51230.97.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 15 were in the red.
