IRDAI issues guidelines for standard personal accident cover

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has come out with a standard personal accident cover on Thursday which will allow all general and health insurers to offer covers up to a sum assured of Rs 1 crore.

The standardized product set to go live from April 1 has been named “Saral Suraksha Bima.” The minimum sum assured has been set as Rs 2.5 lakh.
