FMCG stocks: Stock market update: FMCG stocks fall; Emami sheds nearly 4%

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading on a negative note at 02:09PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Emami (down 3.59 per cent), Godrej Consumer Products (down 1.84 per cent), Tata Consumer Products (down 1.79 per cent), Britannia Industries (down 1.61 per cent) and Jubilant Foodworks (down 1.45 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While United Breweries (up 1.34 per cent), Hindustan Unilever (up 0.14 per cent) and Marico (up 0.1 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.64 per cent down at 32977.75 around 02:09PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 23.75 points at 14979.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 159.74 points at 50600.81.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of BPCL, Vodafone Idea, BHEL, YES Bank and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of SBI Life, Godrej Industries, Adani Power, Poly Medicure and Blue Dart Exp hit their fresh 52week high in today’s trade, while B C Power Controls Ltd., Shrenik Ltd. and Marine Electricals (India) Ltd. hit fresh 52week low in trade.
