FMCG stocks: Stock market update: FMCG stocks fall; United Spirits slips over 2%

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower at 02:41PM (IST) on Monday.

Shares of Nestle India (up 0.46 per cent), Emami (up 0.44 per cent), Britannia Industries (up 0.34 per cent), P&G Hygiene (up 0.12 per cent) and Dabur India (up 0.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While United Spirits (down 2.19 per cent), Colgate Palmolive (India) (down 1.7 per cent), Tata Consumer Products (down 1.12 per cent), Godrej Consumer Products (down 1.08 per cent) and VBL (down 0.94 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.33 per cent down at 32957.8 around 02:41PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 172.25 points at 14858.7, while the BSE Sensex was down 639.57 points at 50152.51.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, Tata Power, PNB and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Poly Medicure, Vaibhav Global, Indian Energy Exchange, Orchid Pharma and Delta Corp hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while Shrenik Ltd., B C Power Controls Ltd., Rajvir Industries Ltd., Ahimsa Industries Ltd., Bannari Amman Spinning Mills Ltd. and Marine Electricals (India) Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
