midcap stocks: Stock market update: BSE MidCap index falls over 1%; Shriram Transport Finance tanks 5%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE MidCap index was trading on a negative note at 02:00PM (IST) on Monday.

Shares of Oberoi Realty (up 4.68 per cent), Adani Power (up 3.38 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals (up 2.71 per cent), Jindal Steel & Power (up 2.05 per cent) and Godrej Industries (up 1.99 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Shriram Transport Finance (down 5.26 per cent), AU Small Finance Bank (down 4.87 per cent), IDBI Bank (down 4.29 per cent), Hindustan Aeronautics (down 4.09 per cent) and L&T Finance Holdings (down 3.89 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE MidCap index was trading 1.33 per cent down at 20303.61 around 02:00PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 217.60 points at 14813.35, while the BSE Sensex was down 790.56 points at 50001.52.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, BHEL, Tata Power and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Indian Energy Exchange, Vaibhav Global, Poly Medicure, Orchid Pharma and Linde India hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade.
