Smallcap stocks: Stock market update: BSE SmallCap index down 1%; APL Apollo Tubes nosedives 10%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading on a negative note at 02:09PM (IST) on Monday.

Shares of Bliss GVS Pharma (down 19.98 per cent), APL Apollo Tubes (down 9.24 per cent), India Glycols (down 8.81 per cent), GTPL Hathway (down 5.77 per cent) and SORIL Infra Resources (down 5.62 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Meghmani Organics (up 17.89 per cent), RPSG Ventures (up 17.13 per cent), IndoStar Capital Finance (up 8.54 per cent), Godawari Power & Ispat (up 8.45 per cent) and Religare Enterprises (up 8.15 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 0.94 per cent down at 21009.82 around 02:09PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 243.70 points at 14787.25, while the BSE Sensex was down 878.48 points at 49913.6.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 8 were trading in the green, while 42 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, BHEL, Tata Power and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Indian Energy Exchange, Linde India, Poly Medicure, Vaibhav Global and Orchid Pharma hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while Madhusudan Securities Ltd., Spice Islands Apparels Ltd., B C Power Controls Ltd., Otco International Ltd., Suncare Traders Ltd., Integra Capital Management Ltd., CHD Chemicals Ltd., Ashari Agencies Ltd., Mega Nirman & Industries Ltd. and Taaza International Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
