Shares of VBL (up 1.26 per cent), ITC (up 1.07 per cent), Britannia Industries (up 0.99 per cent), Hindustan Unilever (up 0.66 per cent) and Tata Consumer Products (up 0.52 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Emami (down 0.84 per cent), Godrej Consumer Products (down 0.57 per cent), Jubilant Foodworks (down 0.57 per cent), Nestle India (down 0.49 per cent) and P & G Hygiene (down 0.43 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.5 per cent up at 33222.9 around 01:19PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 2.30 points at 14927.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 33.22 points at 50428.3.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, PNB, Bank of Baroda, SAIL and Tata Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
