Shares of Brigade Enterprises (down 5.43 per cent), Sobha (down 3.86 per cent), Godrej Properties (down 3.72 per cent), Sunteck Realty (down 2.28 per cent) and Omaxe (down 1.95 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
While Indiabulls Real Estate (up 0.6 per cent) was the sole gainer.
The Nifty Realty index was trading 2.04 per cent down at 328.9 around 02:27PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 209.85 points at 14511.45, while the BSE Sensex was down 724.93 points at 49076.69.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 40 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, BHEL, PNB, Tata Power and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Orchid Pharma, Dixon Tech, Adani Power and Sundram Fasteners hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while Shrenik Ltd., B C Power Controls Ltd., Jiya Eco Products Ltd., Future Retail Ltd., Tembo Global Industries Ltd., Silly Monks Entertainment Ltd., Asian Hotels (West) Ltd., Marine Electricals (India) Ltd., Infomedia Press Ltd. and Radha Madhav Corporation Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
