Smallcap stocks: Stock market update: BSE SmallCap index falls nearly 2%; Vishwaraj Sugar nosedives 12%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading lower at 03:01PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of Vishwaraj Sugar Industries (down 12.38 per cent), Datamatics Global Services (down 8.12 per cent), Banco Products (India) (down 7.96 per cent), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (down 7.96 per cent) and National Fertilizer (down 7.82 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While GFL (up 11.42 per cent), APL Apollo Tubes (up 5.59 per cent), Dixon Technologies (up 5.59 per cent), Munjal Auto Industries (up 4.73 per cent) and TCNS Clothing (up 4.55 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 1.83 per cent down at 20335.5 around 03:01PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 218.35 points at 14502.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 760.31 points at 49041.31.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 9 were trading in the green, while 41 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, BHEL, Tata Power and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Dixon Tech, Orchid Pharma , Adani Power, Blue Dart Express and Sundram Fasteners hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while Devhari Exports (India) Ltd., Sanwaria Consumer Ltd., B C Power Controls Ltd., SPS International Ltd., Otco International Ltd., Integra Capital Management Ltd., Mitshi India Ltd., Kakatiya Textiles Ltd., CHD Chemicals Ltd. and Mega Nirman & Industries Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
