Smallcap stocks: Stock market update: BSE SmallCap index slips over 1%; Redington nosedives 10%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading on a negative note at 02:07PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of Redington (India) (up 9.98 per cent), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries (up 4.16 per cent), Privi Specility Chemicals (up 4.05 per cent), Praj Industries (up 3.85 per cent) and Dwarikesh Sugar Industries (up 3.35 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Wabco India (down 7.81 per cent),

(down 7.23 per cent), Sterling And Wilson Solar (down 7.15 per cent), Surya Roshni (down 7.11 per cent) and Future Lifestyle Fashions Ltd (down 6.04 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 1.48 per cent down at 20137.75 around 02:07PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 132.95 points at 14416.45, while the BSE Sensex was down 457.28 points at 48723.03.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 6 were trading in the green, while 44 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PNB, Infibeam Avenues and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Orchid Pharma, Atul Ltd, J B Chemicals, CG Power & Industries and Ambuja Cements hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade, while Cospower Engineering Ltd., Jump Networks Ltd., Chandrima Mercantiles Ltd., Devhari Exports (India) Ltd., Sanwaria Consumer Ltd., Integra Capital Management Ltd., Ganesh Films India Ltd., Suncare Traders Ltd., Vani Commercials Ltd. and B C Power Controls Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
