(up 1.55 per cent) and RBL Bank (up 1.05 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Bandhan Bank (down 0.27 per cent) was the sole loser in the index.
The Nifty Bank index was trading 1.22 per cent up at 33409.4 around 01:51PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 218.55 points at 14543.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 682.79 points at 49122.91.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 47 were trading in the green, while 3 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, PNB, SAIL, YES Bank and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Orchid Pharma, CDSL, Prism Johnson , JSW Steel and Godrej Ind. hit their fresh 52-week high in today’s trade, while Jump Networks, Shrenik, B C Power Controls, Jiya Eco Products, Future Retail, Sanwaria Consumer, Future Supply Chain Solutions, Future Lifestyle Fashions, MT Educare and Zee Learn hit fresh 52-week low in trade.
