Copper futures climb nearly 1% on fresh bets

NEW DELHI: Copper prices on Friday rose 0.75 per cent to Rs 667.15 per kg in futures trade on a pick-up in spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for April delivery traded higher by Rs 4.95, or 0.75 per cent, to Rs 667.15 per kg in a business turnover of 3,027 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to increase in bets by participants, driven by a pick-up in spot demand.
