FMCG stocks: Stock market update: Nifty FMCG index down 1%; Tata Consumer rises over 1%

NEW DELHI: Nifty FMCG stocks were trading on a negative note at 02:49PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Tata Consumer Products (up 1.71 per cent), Jubilant Foodworks (up 1.47 per cent), United Breweries (up 1.26 per cent), United Spirits (up 0.47 per cent) and VBL (up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Marico (down 2.69 per cent), Hindustan Unilever (down 1.94 per cent), Emami (down 1.8 per cent), Colgate Palmolive (India) (down 1.48 per cent) and Britannia Industries (down 1.26 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 1.02 per cent down at 34168.0 around 02:49PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 109.45 points at 14250.0, while the BSE Sensex was down 368.12 points at 47581.3.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Supreme Petrochem, Macrotech Developers, Cadila Healthcare, Apollo Hospital and JSPL hit their fresh 52 week high in today’s trade.
