Ram Navami Holiday | Bank holiday April 2021: Is it a bank holiday today?

Banks across many states are closed today (i.e., April 21) on account of Shree Ram Navmi (Chaite Dashain)/Garia Puja. However, in states like Mizoram, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Manipur, Kerala, West Bengal, Delhi and few others, banks are open today.

The month of April has a few important bank holidays. For instance, all banks were closed on April 1 (Thursday) due to the closing of accounts. Further, April 2 (Friday) was a bank holiday on account of Good Friday. April 21 (Wednesday), too, is a bank holiday across various states due to Ram Navmi (Chaite Dashain)/Garia Puja.

There were a few more state-specific bank holidays:

April 13 (Tuesday): Bank holiday on account of Gudhi Padwa/Telugu New Year’s Day/Ugadi Festival/Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba)/1st Navratra/Baisakhi.

April 15: Bank holiday on account of Himachal Day/Bengali New Year’s Day/Bohag Bihu/Sarhul.

Apart from these days, banks will also be closed on second and fourth Saturdays and on Sundays.
