Wall Street’s main indexes opened lower on Wednesday on fears that rising inflation could force the U.S. Federal Reserve to pare back its support soon.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 397.9 points, or 1.17%, at the open to 33,662.93. The S&P 500 dropped 53.4 points, or 1.20%, at the open to 4,074.06, while the Nasdaq Composite was down 178.5 points, or 1.34%, to 13,125.63 at the opening bell.
