NEW DELHI: Crude oil prices rose Rs 10 to Rs 5,437 per barrel on Wednesday, as participants widened their positions on a firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for the July delivery traded higher by Rs 10, or 0.18 per cent, at Rs 5,437 per barrel in 6,642 lots.
Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in the futures trade.
Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil rose 0.16 per cent to USD 72.86 per barrel, while Brent crude traded 0.40 per cent up at USD 74.46 per barrel in New York.
