Crude oil futures rise on spot demand

NEW DELHI: Crude oil prices rose Rs 15 to Rs 5,612 per barrel on Monday as participants widened their positions on a firm spot demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for the July delivery traded higher by Rs 15, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 5,612 per barrel in 8,976 lots.

Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in the futures trade.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil fell 0.08 per cent to USD 75.22 per barrel, while Brent crude traded 0.14 per cent higher at USD 76.28 per barrel in New York.
