Shares of AU Small Finance Bank (up 0.85 per cent), Federal Bank (up 0.67 per cent), State Bank of India (up 0.45 per cent), Bandhan Bank (up 0.3 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.06 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Punjab National Bank (down 0.49 per cent), IDFCBANK (down 0.37 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 0.31 per cent), RBLBANK (down 0.3 per cent) and HDFC Bank (down 0.18 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.01 per cent down at 35668.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 41.6 points at 15853.95, while the BSE Sensex stood up 134.32 points at 52904.05.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, JM Financial, NMDC and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of SVP Global, South West Pinnacle, Indbank Merc, Sumit Woods and Kaya hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Walpar Nutritions Ltd. and SKS Textiles hit their fresh 52-week lows.
