NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 271.11 points up at 53175.16 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, R J Bio Tech Lt (down 14.47 per cent), Cheviot Company (down 13.04 per cent), Kitex Garments (down 10.00 per cent), Janus Corporation (down 9.97 per cent) and Tiaan Ayurvedic & He (down 9.94 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 25 stocks traded in the green, while 25 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 71.65 points up at 15925.6.
On the BSE, Nexus Commoditie, SVP Housing, Bansisons Tea, Rajkot Investment Tr and Enbee Trade Fin hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Natural Capsule, Shyam Century Ferro, Datamatics Glob, Sobha and Alkali Metals touched their fresh 52-week highs.
