NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 254.8 points up at 53158.85 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Cheviot Company (down 13.80 per cent), Tasty Dairy Speciali (down 11.76 per cent), Hardwyn India (down 11.20 per cent), Kitex Garments (down 10.00 per cent) and Janus Corporation (down 9.97 per cent) stood among the top losers in today’s trade.
In the Nifty pack, 26 stocks closed in the green, while 24 stocks ended in the red.
The index closed 70.25 points up at 15924.2.
On the BSE, Nexus Commoditie, SVP Housing, Bansisons Tea, Rajkot Investment Tr and Enbee Trade Fin hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Shyam Century Ferro, Datamatics Glob, Sobha, Natural Capsule and L&T Tech touched their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade.
