Wall Street’s main indexes opened higher on Friday, with investors piling on economically sensitive energy, banks and travel stocks as data showed U.S. retail sales unexpectedly rose in June.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 18.14 points, or 0.05 per cent to 35005.16. The S&P 500 rose 4.15 points, or 0.09 per cent, to 4364.18, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 30.15 points, or 0.21 per cent, to 14,573.28.
