NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Friday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 17.95 points down at 53140.90 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Franklin Leasing & F (down 9.95 per cent), M B Parikh Fin (down 9.40 per cent), S R Industries (down 9.15 per cent), SPS Finquest (down 8.92 per cent) and Cheviot Company (down 8.80 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 24 stocks traded in the green, while 26 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 1.7 points down at 15922.5.
On the BSE, Franklin Leasing & F, Bansisons Tea, Quantum Build-Tech, Aneri Fincap and Joy Realty hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Angel Broking, Eco Recycling, East India Sec, Amarjothi Spin and Elpro Intnl touched their fresh 52-week highs.
