Shares of Balkrishna Industries (up 3.17 per cent), MRF (up 1.23 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 0.7 per cent), Exide Industries (up 0.68 per cent) and TVS Motor Company (up 0.39 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Eicher Motors (down 1.88 per cent), Ashok Leyland (down 0.74 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 0.71 per cent), TIINDIA (down 0.7 per cent) and Bharat Forge (down 0.35 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.02 per cent up at 10428.45.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 0.8 points at 15923.4, while the BSE Sensex stood down 18.79 points at 53140.06.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 ended in the green, while 26 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NALCO, Bank of Baroda and NMDC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Angel Broking, Sutlej Textiles, Datamatics Glob, GeeCee Ventures and Cyient hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Walpar Nutritions Ltd. and Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
