Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 152.55 points to 15784.65 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Walpar Nutritions Ltd., touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 42 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 8 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Bajaj Finance, Hindalco, JSW Steel, Tata Steel and Titan Company were among top gainers, while Hero MotoCorp, Power Grid, Eicher Motors, Asian Paints and Cipla traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 542.93 points up at 52741.44 at 09:59AM (IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Tea / Coffee, Metals – Ferrous, Diversified, Tourism & Hospitality and Cables sectors, while selling was visible in Power, Agriculture/Horticulture/Livestock, Building Materials, Irrigation & Allied Services and InvIT sectors.
