NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 305.12 points down at 52273.64 amid brisk selling in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Alpine Housing (down 9.98 per cent), Athena Constructions (down 9.95 per cent), Ram Info (down 8.42 per cent), Panacea Biotec (down 8.12 per cent) and Premier Poly (down 7.31 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 17 stocks traded in the green, while 33 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 89.9 points down at 15656.55.
On the BSE, Focus Business Solution Ltd., AA Plus Tradelink Ltd., Prism Medico, CHD Chemicals Ltd. and PVP Ventures Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Golden Tobacco, India Motor Part, Sterling Tools, BLS Int. Services and Rubfila Intnl touched their fresh 52-week highs.
