Hindustan Oil: Biggest gainers & losers of the day: Hindustan Oil continues to shine, Vodafone Idea bleeds 11%

NEW DELHI: Dalal Street witnessed another historic session on Tuesday as benchmark indices scaled new lifetime highs. After a prolonged rangebound trade, bulls finally took the charge and lifted the market higher. Global and macroeconomic cues supported the market and buying was seen in almost all the sectors.

The 30-share pack Sensex climbed 872.73 points or 1.65 per cent to close at 53,823.36. Its broader peer NSE Nifty advanced 245.60 points or 1.55 per cent to 16,130.75. Broader market underperformed but posted mild gains.

Among stock-specific actions, Sanghi Industries stole the spotlight, whereas

continued to be on investors’ radar. On the contrary, investors kept at bay and booked profits in the recent gainers.

Here is a look at some of the biggest movers and shakers of Tuesday’s session:

TOP GAINERS OF THE DAY

Sanghi Industries: The cement maker advanced 12 per cent to Rs 76.60 as the technical factors supported the counter. The average volume of stock jumped up to four times.

Hindustan Oil Exploration: The oil and natural gas explorer continued its upward movement as the Chennai-based company claimed that based on its latest estimates, B80 block had seen a tenfold rise in oil and gas reserves. The scrip soared 13 per cent to Rs 460.5.

Suven Life Sciences: The smallcap pharma counter rallied 10 per cent to Rs 91.80 ahead of its June 2021 quarter results. The company board will meet on August 9 to consider and approve the results. Its sister concern Suven Pharmaceuticals soared 9 per cent to Rs 563.05.

Steel Strips Wheels: The auto ancillary hit upper circuit of 10 per cent to Rs 1,658.90 after it achieved the highest-ever net turnover of Rs 306.12 crore in July 2021.

Nilkamal: The plastic products producers gained 10 per cent to Rs 2,942.05 ahead of its June 2021 quarter results. The company informed that its board will meet to consider and approve results for Q1FY2022 on August 9.

TOP LOSERS OF THE DAY

Vodafone Idea: The telecom service provider tanked 11 per cent to Rs 7.32 after Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla offered to transfer the group’s entire ownership in Vodafone Idea to the government in a last-ditch effort to keep the cash-strapped telco from collapsing.

Mahindra Logistics: The transportation services counter shed 8 per cent to Rs 737.6 as investors booked profits in the company after a sharp 33 per cent rally in the counter within 10 trading sessions.

Nitin Spinners: The textile players slipped 7 per cent to Rs 249.50 as investors booked profits in the company after a strong performance in June 2021 quarter and a 250 per cent jump in year 2021 so far.

Vadilal Industries: The packaged food company declined 6 per cent to Rs 1,161 after BSE sought clarification from the company over its movement lately. However, the company informed the exchange that it has given all the price sensitive information.

Neuland Laboratories: The smallcap pharmaceutical reported a sharp fall of 42 per cent to Rs 8.65 crore in June 2021 quarter, compared to a profit of Rs 15.06 crore in the year-ago quarter. The scrip settled 5 per cent lower at Rs 1,876.85.
