NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 568.79 points up at 54392.15 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Gujarat Hy-Spin (down 19.59 per cent), P G Foils (down 9.29 per cent), Ishaan Infrastru (down 8.82 per cent), Alankit (down 7.84 per cent) and Rossell India (down 7.83 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 32 stocks traded in the green, while 18 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 146.55 points up at 16277.3.
On the BSE, Ishaan Infrastru, Vodafone Idea, HemoOrganic, SVP Housing and Sterling Guar hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Advance Lifestyles Ltd., Tirupati Sarjan, Aarti Surfactants, GNA Axles and IIFL Wealth Mgmt touched their fresh 52-week highs.
