Alkem Laboratories (up 0.98 per cent), Divis Laboratories (up 0.68 per cent), Cipla (up 0.2 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 0.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Lupin (down 0.95 per cent), Biocon (down 0.88 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (down 0.56 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (down 0.39 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories (down 0.01 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.02 per cent at 14597.3 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 26.3 points at 16232.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 89.31 points at 54280.46.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.
