Shares of Amara Raja Batteries (up 1.88 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (up 1.04 per cent), Bajaj Auto (up 0.76 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 0.56 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (up 0.53 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, TIINDIA (down 2.0 per cent), Balkrishna Industries (down 1.92 per cent), MRF (down 0.63 per cent), Bharat Forge (down 0.2 per cent) and Ashok Leyland (down 0.15 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.24 per cent up at 10249.5.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 56.4 points at 16238.2, while the BSE Sensex stood down 215.12 points at 54277.72.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, GAIL, PNB and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of PVP Ventures Ltd., Accuracy Shipping, BASF India, Venus Remedies and Gujarat Sidhee hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Viceroy Hotels, Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd. and AKG Exim Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
