NEW DELHI: Shares of Avenue Supermarts Ltd. traded 1.34 per cent down in Wednesday’s trade at 11:32AM (IST). Around 4,920 shares changed hands on the counter.

The counter opened at Rs 3560.0 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 3560.0 and Rs 3467.15, respectively, in the session so far. The stock of Avenue Supermarts Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 3625.0 and a 52-week low of Rs 1949.3.

Key Financials

The company reported consolidated sales of Rs 5214.58 crore for the quarter ended 30-Jun-2021, down 30.1 per cent from previous quarter’s Rs 7459.8 crore and down 32.56 per cent from the year-ago quarter’s Rs 3933.78 crore.

The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 95.37 crore, up 137.89 per cent from the corresponding quarter last year.

Shareholding pattern

As of 30-Jun-2021, DIIs held 6.19 per cent stake in the firm, while foreign institutional investors held 10.04 per cent and the promoters 74.99 per cent.

Valuation ratio

According to BSE data, the stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 195.52 and a price-to-book ratio of 15.17. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
