Shares of HCL Technologies (up 0.31 per cent), Tata Consultancy (up 0.31 per cent), Mindtree (up 0.24 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 0.04 per cent) and Infosys (up 0.02 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Coforge (down 2.51 per cent), MPhasis (down 1.31 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software (down 1.2 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech (down 0.72 per cent) and Wipro (down 0.43 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.14 per cent down at 31670.0.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 2.15 points at 16282.25, while the BSE Sensex stood down 28.73 points at 54525.93.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 ended in the green, while 26 closed in the red.
