NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 152.36 points up at 54678.29 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Gujarat Hy-Spin (down 19.51 per cent), National Plast (down 10.72 per cent), Sudal Inds (down 9.92 per cent), Suryavanshi Spin (down 9.86 per cent) and AK Spintex L (down 9.78 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 34 stocks traded in the green, while 16 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 44.6 points up at 16326.85.
On the BSE, Acewin Agriteck, Ozone World, Future Market, Palm Jewels and Jonjua Overseas hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Indoco Remedies, Filtra Consultants &, Brooks Labs, Nelco Ltd and Enterprise Intnl touched their fresh 52-week highs.
