Vodafone Idea: Biggest gainers & losers of the day: VST Tiller and Voda on a roll; Aavas Financiers bleeds

New Delhi: Benchmark indices snapped their winning streak after scaling new record highs on Wednesday. Benchmark indices lost the momentum in the second half as selloff in banking, financials and a few metal counters dragged the market lower.

The 30-share pack Sensex declined 162.78 points or 0.29 per cent to close at 55,629.49. The index traded in a range of over 600 points during the day. Its broader peer NSE Nifty fell 45.75 points or 0.28 per cent to 16,568.85.

VST Tillers continued to shine after strong results in the June 2021 quarter and

gained after indirect price hike. However, remained under pressure after its analysts-investor call.

Here is a look at some of the biggest movers and shakers of Wednesday’s session:

TOP GAINERS OF THE DAY

VST Tillers Tractors: The commercial vehicle continued to move northwards after it announced a 40 per cent jump in the profit after tax to Rs 24.01 crore, whereas revenue jumped 33 per cent to Rs 193.6 crore in the June 2021 quarter. The scrip surged 19 per cent to Rs 2,637.40.

Vodafone Idea: The telecom operator gained 12 per cent to Rs 6.45 after it increased tariffs for its entry level prepaid plans by about 61 per cent. The company has reduced the validity to increase realisation.

Rane (Madras): The auto parts counter advanced 11 per cent to Rs 421 amidst reports that the government may make six airbags compulsory in private cars. Rane (Madras) is among the leaders in this industry.

Aster DM Healthcare: The hospital chain player added 7 per cent to Rs 189.70 as the company announced to invest Rs 235 crore to add 411 beds in India. Also, the demand continued to rise for the hospitals for non-Covid treatment.

Hindustan Aeronautics: The state-run aerospace behemoth has placed an order of Rs 5,375 crore for 99 F404-GE-IN20 engines and support services with GE Aviation to power Tejas Light Combat Aircraft. The scrip settled 5 per cent higher at Rs 1119.30.

TOP LOSERS FOR THE DAY

Aavas Financiers: The housing finance firm shed 7 per cent to Rs 2,477.15 ahead of its investor-analysts meeting with Abu Dhabi Investment Authority scheduled today.

Infrastructure Developers: The roads and highways counter tanked 6 per cent to Rs 21.15 after it reported a net loss of Rs 10.69 crore in the June 2021 quarter, despite a 91 per cent rise in the sales.

Time Technoplast: The plastic products company fell 6 per cent to Rs 72.35 after its long meeting with investors and analysts.

Allcargo Logistics: The transportation counter slipped 4 per cent to Rs 219.95 as investors booked profit in the counter after a sharp 35 per cent rally in the counter in the last one month.
