Shares of Punjab National Bank (up 1.54 per cent), IndusInd Bank (up 0.93 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 0.78 per cent), State Bank of India (up 0.69 per cent) and HDFC Bank (up 0.65 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bandhan Bank (down 4.13 per cent), RBLBANK (down 3.16 per cent), Federal Bank (down 2.07 per cent), IDFCBANK (down 2.03 per cent) and Axis Bank (down 0.56 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.26 per cent up at 35124.4.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 45.95 points at 16496.45, while the BSE Sensex stood up 226.47 points at 55555.79.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Zomato Ltd. and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of BLS Int. Services, Arvind Fashions, Steel Exchange, Stampede Cap and Mask Investments hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Ujjivan Financial, PTC Financial, Windlas Biotech Ltd., Vertoz Advertising and Biocon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
