Shares of Cadila Healthcare (up 2.29 per cent), Divis Laboratories (up 1.16 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (up 0.85 per cent), Cipla (up 0.84 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma (up 0.27 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Biocon (down 6.76 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories (down 0.9 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (down 0.24 per cent), Alkem Laboratories (down 0.21 per cent) and Lupin (down 0.11 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.08 per cent down at 13700.6.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 45.95 points at 16496.45, while the BSE Sensex stood up 226.47 points at 55555.79.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Zomato Ltd. and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of BLS Int. Services, Arvind Fashions, Steel Exchange, Stampede Cap and Mask Investments hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Ujjivan Financial, PTC Financial, Windlas Biotech Ltd., Vertoz Advertising and Biocon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
