Shares of Bharat Forge (up 2.97 per cent), Bosch (up 1.71 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 1.66 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (up 1.6 per cent) and TVS Motor Company (up 1.35 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, TIINDIA (down 0.89 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (down 0.33 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (down 0.18 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.75 per cent up at 9832.8.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 128.15 points at 16624.6, while the BSE Sensex stood up 403.19 points at 55958.98.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 ended in the green, while 15 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NALCO, SAIL and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of TD Power Sys, Kabra Extrusion, Linde India, BLS Int. Services and S & S Power Switch hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Vertoz Advertising, Grand Foundry, Nxtdigital, Marine Electricals and Pritika Auto Ind hit their fresh 52-week lows.
