Coforge (up 4.6 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech (up 2.84 per cent), Tata Consultancy (up 1.95 per cent), Oracle Financial Services Software (up 1.69 per cent) and Mindtree (up 1.25 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Tech Mahindra (down 0.11 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was up 1.36 per cent at 34299.9 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 48.6 points at 16673.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 124.24 points at 56083.22.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.
