NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 156.64 points up at 56100.85 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Upasana Finance (down 17.49 per cent), Benara Bearings (down 14.35 per cent), Triveni Glass (down 11.15 per cent), Informed Tech (down 9.66 per cent) and Triveni Enterprises (down 9.63 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 23 stocks traded in the green, while 27 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 42.9 points up at 16677.55.
On the BSE, AK Spintex L, Dhanashree Electro, Abans Enterprises, Advance Lifestyles Ltd. and ERP Soft Sys hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Kerala Ayurveda, Hind Rectifiers, Refex Industries, Linde India and TAAL Enterprises touched their fresh 52-week highs.
