Shares of Amara Raja Batteries (up 2.48 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 2.3 per cent), TIINDIA (up 1.91 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 1.0 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries (up 0.82 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra (down 0.8 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 0.1 per cent) and Bosch (down 0.04 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.31 per cent up at 9793.85.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 68.3 points at 16705.2, while the BSE Sensex stood up 175.62 points at 56124.72.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 ended in the green, while 11 closed in the red.
