NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Tuesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 98.28 points up at 56988.04 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, MRP Agro Ltd. (down 8.77 per cent), Sumuka Agro Ind. (down 8.13 per cent), Benara Bearings (down 7.45 per cent), Ashirwad Steels (down 7.02 per cent) and Fervent Syn (down 6.95 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 29 stocks traded in the green, while 20 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 23.05 points up at 16954.1.
On the BSE, Milgrey Finance, ETT Ltd, Bhakti Gems and Jewe, Rander Corp and Gautam Gems hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Tanfac Ind, 8K Miles Soft, Goldcrest Corporati, Indian Energy Exchg and Technocraft Ind touched their fresh 52-week highs.
