NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea (numbers of share traded: 27.85 crore), YES Bank (numbers of share traded: 15.13 crore), NHPC (numbers of share traded: 10.59 crore), BHEL (numbers of share traded: 7.78 crore), PNB (numbers of share traded: 4.15 crore), NALCO (numbers of share traded: 3.64 crore), Indian Energy Exchg (numbers of share traded: 3.37 crore), Tata Motors (numbers of share traded: 3.31 crore), Tata Power (numbers of share traded: 3.12 crore) and IDFC First Bank (numbers of share traded: 3.10 crore) emerged top gainers in Wednesday’s market in terms of trading volume.
The NSE Nifty index closed 55.95 points down at 17076.25, while BSE Sensex ended down 214.18 points at 57338.21.
On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (down 2.95 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd. (down 2.69 per cent), Cipla Ltd. (down 2.63 per cent), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (down 2.18 per cent) and Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (down 2.11 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
