Alkem Laboratories (up 0.35 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals (up 0.18 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories (up 0.13 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 0.01 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Biocon (down 1.25 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (down 0.59 per cent), Lupin (down 0.46 per cent), Cadila Healthcare (down 0.32 per cent) and Divis Laboratories (down 0.09 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.11 per cent at 14329.65 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 36.3 points at 17168.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 168.76 points at 57721.15.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.
