Shares of Torrent Pharmaceuticals (up 1.98 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories (up 1.26 per cent), Divis Laboratories (up 0.56 per cent), Lupin (up 0.46 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma (up 0.36 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Cipla (down 2.63 per cent), Biocon (down 1.16 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (down 0.7 per cent), Alkem Laboratories (down 0.59 per cent) and Cadila Healthcare (down 0.32 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.17 per cent down at 14319.85.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 55.95 points at 17076.25, while the BSE Sensex stood down 214.18 points at 57338.21.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.

Shares of Zen Tech, RPG Life Sci, ABB Power, Indian Energy Exchg and Oberoi Realty hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Future Supply Chain, Rex Pipes and Cables Industries Ltd., Inventure Grwth and Network People Services Technologies Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
